Le mwcwCrittogame (dal greco κρυπτός, nascosta e γαμέω riproduzione), nella classificazione di mwdaLinneo (mwdqSystema Naturae, mwdg1735), costituivano la mwdwclasse delle mweapiante prive di organi riproduttori visibili, in contrapposizione alle mweqspermatofite. Questa classe si contrapponeva alle mwegFanerogame che hanno appunto organi riproduttori visibili. Le crittogame comprendevano le mwewfelci, i mwfamuschi, i mwfqlicheni, le mwfgepatiche, gli mwfwsfagni.
Attualmente, il termine indica le piante prive di fiori, ma non costituisce più una classe in quanto mwgqparafiletico o mwggpolifiletico. La moderna mwgwsistematica ha introdotto al posto di tale classe numerose mwhadivisioni tassonomiche.
